OUR STORY
Hauwai Flats was born from a love of all staple meals eaten at the dinning room table. Our founder Chef Aroha, spent most of her life cooking dinner for family and friend’s. Perfecting her craft, trying new things and being so creative with making staple home recipes to make them taste better. So that one day she too can share the flavours, the feelings and the family style restaurant with her community too.

Very yummy kai
Cakes are so delicious they make you Wana slap your māma. Meat rolls taste so good they'll turn a vegetarian into a carnivorous predator 😂 but in all honesty, very yummy kai and a must try. Especially the meat rolls very delicious.

I just want to share how delicious, thoughtful and generous servings of kai I received for only $25, just amazing!! We ordered a couple combos, with chop suey&rice, fry bread burger, seafood chowder&frybread and both had Aroha’s yummm steam pudding trifle & a drink. Like I said before the servings were so good! The kai was cooked to perfection!! 😮💨 Simply Delicious!! You have to try it for yourself!! Alsooo OMG Aroha’s chocolate cakes are literally the BEST!! I highly recommend her cakes!

Hands down delicious kai.
The moist and juicy combinations of the meat, salad, sauces and pickles that is served in a fresh buns definitely hits the spot. You can tell a lot of love has gone into the kai. It's a mixture of a home made/restaurant meal on the go.
